Jeans Album

  • Jean's album contains more than 80 pages of photos and newspaper clippings - all well preserved

In late summer of 2014, Burt Henson called to say that he had two box loads of scrapbook’s that my aunt had compiled over the years and it was time for him to find them a new home.  My mother’s sister, Jean Snodgrass Lefever, had created 13 scrapbooks chronicling her husband’s naval career that spanned almost three decades.

Also in the boxes was an album Jean put together covering her engagement to Robert (Buzz) Lefever with pictures of many Ventura County residents (and much much more).  I took it upon myself to digitize that album prior to donating it to the Museum of Ventura County.

If nothing else, I challenge anyone to find a photo album as well preserved after 75 years.  I invite you to download her album.  One work of caution… it’s a big file and may take a while to download.  Be patient, I think it’s worth visiting.  At the back of the album I provided an index of the photographs.  Perhaps one of your relatives is pictured.  Many of mine are.
